About this course
This course is for people who want to work as housekeepers, home managers or domestic workers, and for anyone who wants to keep a home clean, safe and well organised. You do not need any experience. You need a willingness to learn and to take pride in careful work.
You will learn what a professional housekeeper is expected to do, how to behave in a private home, and how to plan daily, weekly and monthly routines. You will practise cleaning methods that save time, use cleaning products safely, keep kitchens and bathrooms hygienic, care for laundry, store food properly and keep track of household supplies. You will also learn how to work respectfully in a family abroad, and where to look for information about your contract and your rights.
Families and employers in Kenya and in other countries value housekeepers who are honest, careful and reliable. This course helps you to build those habits. It does not replace practice on the job, it is not a guarantee of employment or a visa, and the rules that protect workers differ from country to country, so always check the rules where you will work.

Your certificate
Complete every lesson and pass the assessments with 70% or more to earn a Zalika Africa certificate of completion with a QR code employers can verify online. The certificate costs KES 1,000, paid only once you have finished.
