About this course
This course is for beginners who want to feel confident with computers, phones and the internet at work. It suits job seekers, caregivers and housekeepers who will use digital tools in their jobs, students, small business owners, and anyone who is preparing to work in Kenya or abroad. You do not need any previous computer experience.
You will learn how to organise files and folders, use keyboard shortcuts, create safe passwords and spot scams, including M-Pesa fraud. You will write a professional email, build a simple budget in a spreadsheet, and join a video call with confidence. You will also learn what generative AI is, how to write clear prompts, how to use AI to draft a CV or to learn something new, and how to check AI answers, protect private information and stay honest about how you use AI.
Employers in many countries expect staff to use email, messaging, video calls and basic documents. This course helps you to build those skills. The examples use tools such as Google Docs, Google Sheets and Microsoft Office, and software changes often, so menus may look a little different on your device. The course does not promise a job or a visa.
